Under the weather?
Some people will say to me, " I'm not feeling well so I'm not going to workout" and others, "Even though I don't feel well, I'm working out today!". The rule of thumb is this... you should always honor what and how you are feeling. If you're feeling weak and tired, it's probably not a good idea to workout. If you have a head cold, a sniffle, but you feel good.. well then, I suggest an easy walk outside or some light weights and cardio. What I go by as my inner gadge..
If it's in the head you can tread.. in the body probably not-ty.

She's a MAN baby
It's amazing to me how some woman think that looking like a man is sexy. First of all, what man/woman comes to mind when you think of the word SEXY? umm I'm going to go out on a limb here and say NONE. Angelina Jolie, for example, in the role of Lara Croft- now she was strong and sexy, combined. Thankfully her body double didn't train or look like a dude- Hence that would've totally voided Jolie's sexuality.
There is a way to have power, strength and a curvy sexy bod. Keep it light, cardio with lots of isometrics(squeeze things as you walk). Only not manually.. Isometrically.
I am a firm believer in Yoga, extended run/walks on the beach, in addition to, light weights with high reps, 4 to 5 times a week. Duration- hour and 1/2, minimum.
If you want to look like a line backer, think about what type of man/dude you will attract. A super awesome dude, that's who. Or, a total wussy manchild. One who, only until recently, totally LOHHOVES(emphasis on AAAA) burning man and all it's tree hugging, spiritually vast and creatively lost, stoner airiedness. No thank you!
Ladies, to look fit is one thing, to look like a man, well that's just wrong. If you want that look for yourself, all buffed out and puffed out. Then find yourself a dude/chick trainer and ask her how much she workouts, and how many supplements she is taking, daily. And I recommend that you pick up some industrial razors and hair wax!!

Personal Trainers.. a love/hate story
I wanted to quickly offer up some tips on how to choose the right personal trainer. Let me just start by saying that if you choose a trainer based on the way they look, you're a moron. The one sure fire way to add insult to your workouts is to choose a trainer based on their aesthetic. DO NOT choose a trainer because you are attracted to him/her, ladies this is a no-no! Men, you too.
If you want to lose weight, get healthy and/or build muscle, hiring a personal trainer can be a step in the right direction. A good trainer can help you to meet your goals and teach you the best way to exercise. Here's what you should know before you hand over the cash.
Are they certified, and compassionate. How many years of experience does he/she have? Will their current or past clients offer up a testimonial? What type of training regimen do they follow? Background, Background, Background!!
Finding the right trainer is like searching for a dentist, that said, if your PT puts their fingers in your mouth, you have the wrong trainer. Training can be a very personal experience, so you want to be sure that the trainer you choose is mature and sensible, not to mention discrete. Choose wisely.
NOW ON TO YOU. I "borrowed" this because it's so right on!
You can help your trainer do a better job by being a good client.
Save the chit-chat for after your session. SERIOUSLY ZIP IT.. Unless it's a fitness related topic.
Give at LEAST 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule
If you have questions, write them down and bring them to your session--you'll spend less time talking and more time working out.
If you have a problem with your trainer, address it immediately.
Recognize that your trainer is there to guide you--but YOU still have to do the work! AMEN.
Ok readers, I hope that helps. It's not brain surgery. Ultimately you're shelling out the cash, so you want to get your money's worth. Always consult your physician before engaging in strenuous activity. Oh and one more tid-bit- 84 days til summer!
